What to expect.
From day one, you will learn important foundational techniques to help boost your skills and self-esteem. When you arrive at your lesson - you will be welcomed by your teacher who will ask you a bit about yourself so you can get to know each other – as you will be working together for the year. You and your teacher will also discuss what to expect from your lessons throughout the year, as well as what you can do to be efficient in practicing. Then, you will learn something new about the instrument you will be learning – allowing you to have a hands-on approach right from the start!
At the beginning of your lesson you will typically spend a couple minutes talking about your practice time at home, what was working well, what you may need help with, among other topics. Then you will spend some time working on a technique for the instrument you are learning. Soon after you will learn a piece (song) to apply what you are learning. There is always time for questions you may have about your instrument or the content you are working on.
Lessons in the heart of Kelowna.
All lessons run for a minimum of a half-hour once per week at Trinity Church. It is our goal to give the right balance of personalized attention, patience, practical training, and positive encouragement.
Building strong relationships.
At Trinity Music Academy, students and teachers create a friendship that is long lasting. They spend time and learn together – adding depth to their relationship, enabling mentorship at it’s finest. Additionally, the students learn about discipleship and may go on to mentor younger students.
Want to show off?
Students are given a chance to showcase their talents in our two yearly recitals – in January and June. These recitals are a fun time of encouraging each other – while sharing with our community what we have learned. Check out our upcoming events.
